    Do you dream of making movies? Join our After School Film Club and bring your stories to life! This six-week club is designed for young creatives eager to explore the world of filmmaking, from script to screen. 🎬

    Overview: Our six-week film club is tailored to inspire and educate young filmmakers through hands-on experiences that cover all aspects of short film production. Each age group will have a tailored curriculum that teaches filmmaking techniques and encourages creative thinking and teamwork.

    Instructor: Diana Abousaleh is a multicultural writer, filmmaker, and educator based in Texas, originally from Venezuela. With over 8 years of teaching experience, Diana has worked with students of all ages in diverse settings, from schools and colleges to private tutoring. Her journey in education has been marked by a commitment to creating dynamic learning environments.

    Dates & Times: Wednesdays, October 23rd - December 4th, from 3:00 pm to 5 pm. No classes during Thanksgiving break.

    Cost: $200 per student
    $150 for existing HeartSync students.

    Supplies needed: Students may bring a tablet or laptop (with the iMovie feature) from home to edit films if desired. All other supplies are included.

    Age Groups and Focus:

    Ages 10-13: Explore the fundamentals of storytelling and filmmaking. Participants will engage in hands-on activities like storyboarding, basic cinematography, and acting. Each session will focus on a different aspect of film production, culminating in the creation of short films that reflect themes such as friendship, adventure, or family.

    Ages 14-17: Students will dive deeper into the intricacies of filmmaking. This group will tackle advanced topics such as scriptwriting, directing, editing, and sound design. Students will collaborate to produce short films centered around more complex themes like social justice, environmental awareness, or historical events, providing a richer canvas to express their creativity and technical skills.

    End of Program Screening: We will celebrate the creativity and hard work of our young filmmakers at our end-of-program screening event. This special day will be an opportunity for students to premiere their short films to their family, friends, and the community. 🎥
